The blast took place on Sunday night in the capital’s Damascus region, and “it resulted in the loss of electricity throughout Syria,” the official quoted SANA as saying.
After some time, contact with some power plants was restored and electricity was provided to the vital infrastructure, the minister said. Around dawn, electricity was gradually provided to several provinces.
