After the end of the vacation, changing lessons continue at schools – Berlin.de

After the two-week Easter break, Berlin’s schools will reopen on Monday. Although the corona infection does not stop at schools, most students should be given alternating lessons as they have been for some time. You learn in half classes alternately at school and with the help of digital solutions at home. An exception are pupils in the 7th to 9th grades, but only for one week. After four months of homeschooling, you should start alternating classes on April 19th.

From this date, an innovation should also take effect: Then, as the Senate decided a few days ago, two corona tests per week will be mandatory for every student. The tests should then be carried out under supervision in the school. Previously, students were given such tests to use at home. However, there were indications that this was not implemented consistently in all families. In addition, sometimes not enough tests were available.

The GEW trade union and the German Association of Philologists, but also the Left, are critical of the continuation of face-to-face teaching. In view of the high Corona numbers, you had spoken out in favor of distance teaching. Furthermore, there is no compulsory attendance at the Berlin schools – so, given the pandemic, pupils will not be forced to take part in lessons at the school.
