After the “Brainstorming” concert in Great Britain, several spectators fell ill with Covid-19

Last week, the national holiday turned out to be very special for Latvians in Britain, as the group “Brainstorm” performed in London. However, it has now become known that several people have contracted Covid-19 after the concert, reports LTV News Service.

Līva Karlsone, a journalist of the portal “Latvieši.com”, said in a telephone conversation on the Latvian Television program “Panorama” that the information about the sick mainly comes from social networks. In a British Latvian group on Facebook, she has counted 11 people who report infection after attending a concert, but two cases of the disease are known among her friends.

However, it is not possible to say exactly where people became infected, because people have been elsewhere during the holidays.

Carlson also stated that the square codes for vaccination, disease or a 24-hour negative test for Covid-19 had been checked before the event. Some people said that the code was not scanned, only looked at, but Aija Auškāpa, the manager of the “Brainstorm”, emphasized that the control before the concert was in the hands of the concert hall, and it would face heavy penalties for failures, so the check was definitely done carefully.

At the same time, the use of face masks was not mandatory at the event, only recommended, but most of the participants did not use them.

The group manager also informed that the musicians themselves are healthy, but are sad, and wish the sick a speedy recovery.
