After Corona Vaccine Injections, How Long Are Antibodies Formed?

INDOZONE.ID – Vaccines are believed to be effective against various kinds of viral infections including the corona virus (Covid-19). Usually vaccines contain weak strains of microbes whose goal is to trigger the immune system to produce antibodies.

When the vaccine is injected into the body, the body will recognize it and form immunity known as antibodies. These antibodies will later function against viruses that enter the body.

Launch Times Now News, Wednesday (4/11/2020), consultant in internal medicine from Aster RV Hospital, Bangalore, Dr. SN Aravinda revealed that antibodies are important to strengthen the body’s immunity against any disease. Antibodies can be developed naturally by the body or induced by vaccinations.

Then the question is, how long does it take for antibodies to form after getting the vaccine?

Aravinda explained that vaccination will help accelerate the body’s production of antibodies. Meanwhile, Vaccineologist and Internal Medicine Specialist, dr. Dirga Sakti explained to find out how long the antibody was formed after receiving it the Covid-19 vaccine still waiting for the results of phase 3 clinical trial data.

“So we are still waiting for data on the results of phase 3 clinical trials. So how long will the protection take, how many injections or need to be repeated or not. Therefore, the government is taking a careful stance to wait for the results of phase 3 clinical trials so that the vaccine used is safe and effective, “said Dirga in the Vaccine Productive Dialogue: Effective and Safe Public Health Intervention which was streamed on YoTube, the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery, Tuesday (3/11/2020).

Dirga then explained that vaccines have side effects like other medical products. However, it is mild and only has a local reaction, namely pain at the injection site or fever.

“But (the fever) is a sign the vaccine is working,” he said.
