After being defeated by 2 of his students, Rossi said he would close the VR46 Academy

KOMPAS.com – Veteran racer MotoGP origin Italy, Valentino Rossi, jokingly wanting to close the academy VR46 after he defeated two of his students in the main race or race MotoGP San Marino 2020.

Two riders who graduated from VR46, Rossi’s racing academy, namely Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing), finished first and second.

Morbidelli has outperformed Rossi since the start of the race.

He appeared consistently until he became the first racer to touch the finish line at the Misano Circuit.

With this result, Morbidelli successfully won his first victory in the MotoGP class.

Meanwhile, Bagnaia, who started the race from sixth, only beat Rossi when he entered the 21st lap.

After that, he continued to show brilliant performances until he ended the race in second place.

For Bagnaia, this is the first podium in his career in the MotoGP premier class.

Previously, Rossi had also witnessed the triumph of two of his team riders, Sky Racing Team VR46, Luca Marini and Marco Bezzechi, in the Moto2 race.

In response to this, Valentino Rossi joked that he would close his racing academy.

“After the first and second place occupied by Marini and Bezzecchi in the Moto2 race, then the first and second places occupied by Morbidelli and Bagnaia in the MotoGP class, we decided to close the academy,” Rossi was quoted as saying BolaSport.com from Sky Sports.

“When Bagnaia overtook me and Morbidelli was getting ahead, I thought ‘who has the idea to start this academy?’. However, I can’t be angry, because the idea is from me.”

“After their win, Morbidelli and I decided to talk about football alone,” joked Rossi again.

After the 2020 San Marino MotoGP race, Valentino Rossi is now in sixth place MotoGP standings with a collection of 58 points.
