After an error, Verstappen has to acknowledge his superior in Norris and Van der Linde

Just like in the first race of Friday evening, Max Verstappen grabbed the pole position and his major rival in the championship, Kelvin van der Linde, took the first place. At the start of the race night, the Red Bull driver’s lead in the championship was a significant one: 133 points, but that lead had shrunk after the first race.

So it promised to be an exciting apotheosis of the Real Racers Never Quit Championship, which is organized by the virtual racing team of Verstappen, Team Redline. Behind Verstappen on the grid, Jensen was in third place and F1 colleague Lando Norris drove to fourth place.

Where Verstappen managed to take the lead within a lap in the first race on Friday evening, this did not work this time. Everyone behaved nicely and the Limburger gradually increased the pressure on his competitor, but that was not smooth sailing.

In lap five, Verstappen almost lost control of his LMP2 car on the virtual Suzuka circuit. It took him a few seconds, the prospect of victory and he had to leave second place to good friend Norris.

He never recovered from that mistake. Despite constantly keeping the pressure on Norris, he was unable to overtake the British Formula 1 driver. Van der Linde won, Norris came second, Verstappen third. The results of the championship are not yet available, but it seems that the Dutchman has become champion.
