According to the information available to the SPKC, one of the patients has returned from Great Britain, but the other case is related to the outbreak at Murjani Sports Gymnasium. SPKC representative Ilze Arāja revealed that the patient is a student of a sports school.
To date, 213,534 Covid-19 examinations have been performed in Latvia, 1,290 persons have become ill and 1,070 have recovered, but 32 have died.
Data from the National Health Service show that there are no inpatients with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Seven patients with the new coronavirus are currently being treated in hospitals, all of whom have a moderate course of the disease. To date, 193 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital, including both those who have recovered and those who have died.
It has already been reported that more than ten students of Murjānis Sports Gymnasium and their coach have been confirmed with Covid-19 infection this week.
