Will Ospreay Confirms Serious Neck Injury, Targets Forbidden Door Return
Will Ospreay has publicly revealed he is battling a meaningful neck injury, a condition confirmed by wrestling journalist Dave meltzer. Ospreay disclosed the severity of his ailment during an in-ring promo on AEW Dynamite, stating he has been dealing with neck pain for approximately ten months and has been managing it privately.
The acclaimed wrestler shared that medical evaluations have identified two herniated discs in his cervical spine, specifically at C2 and C6, which are impacting his spinal cord. He is targeting a return for the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, scheduled to take place in London, England next month, contingent on his recovery progress.
Ospreay linked the onset of his injury to an attack by the Death Riders faction at the All In event. He recounted being taken to the emergency room for an MRI following the incident. The injury occurred as Ospreay attempted to assist Hangman Page during the main event, where Claudio Castagnoli reportedly drove Ospreay’s head into a chair and stomped on it. Earlier in the same show, ospreay and Swerve Strickland had defeated The Young Bucks.
Following Ospreay’s candid announcement, Swerve Strickland appeared on the stage to offer a gesture of support with a hug.
