A U.S. government advisory board on Thursday recommended emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against the novel coronavirus. This means Americans could start getting vaccinated as early as this weekend. This Wednesday the country recorded more than 3,100 deaths in a single day, a peak since the start of the pandemic.
