AdventHealth and Orange County announce another opportunity for Central Florida seniors to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The vaccines will be administered on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the AdventHealth Community Vaccination Site near the Orlando International Airport.

More than 3,500 doses are supplied by the Florida Department of Health in Orange County. The vaccines administered at this site will only be available to those 65 and older who are eligible under state and federal guidelines.

  • Advance appointments are required.
  • Appointments can be booked through a link at ocfl.net/vaccine.

Important data to keep in mind:

  • You can get the vaccine at no cost.
  • Proof of eligibility is required at time of enrollment.
  • The COVID-19 vaccine requires the application of two doses and those who receive the first vaccine at the airport vaccination site will need to schedule another vaccination appointment to receive the second dose.
  • As part of the vaccination process, those who receive the vaccine will need to stay in place for at least 15 minutes to ensure they have adverse reactions. Most of the reported side effects are mild and include arm pain, fatigue, and headache. AdventHealth will make medical professionals available to assist in the event of a reaction.

Information about other vaccination opportunities in Orange County can be found at OCFL.net/vaccine.

As supplies are limited, there are no vaccines available to the general public at this time at any AdventHealth hospitals, AdventHealth Centra Care centers, or AdventHealth Medical Group offices. Members of the public who wish to be notified when additional vaccines are available to the entire community at AdventHealth can sign up for alerts at www.CoronavirusVaccineAlerts.com.

Frequently Asked Questions about the COVID-19 Vaccine (Updated February 25, 2021)

Q: Can you get vaccinated at an AdventHealth hospital, AdventHealth Centra Care center, or AdventHealth Medical Group office?

A: No. At this time we are not offering COVID-19 vaccines to the general public at any of our hospitals, independent emergency departments, AdventHealth Centra Care centers, or AdventHealth Medical Group offices.

Q: Is AdventHealth vaccinating people considered extremely vulnerable to COVID-19?

Q: AdventHealth periodically receives shipments of vaccines that will go to patients considered extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. When supplies are received, patients are notified that they meet the guidelines per CDC criteria.

Q: Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe?

A: Extensive clinical trials with thousands of participants were conducted to evaluate the COVID-19 vaccine and generate scientific data and other relevant information for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the purpose of determining its safety and effectiveness. You cannot get COVID-19 from a vaccine.

Q: How does the COVID-19 vaccine work?

A: The vaccine helps create antibodies that make you less susceptible to disease. It does not use the live virus that causes COVID-19.

Q: What should the rest of the public do in the meantime?

A: We strongly support initiatives that promote the use of masks in the community and strongly recommend that team members and the general public wear masks whenever they are circulating in contact with the community. The use of masks helps reduce transmission through any type of respiratory droplets and, along with social distancing and frequent hand washing, is the best action you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Q: Where else can I get the COVID-19 vaccine?

A: Many area county health departments are offering vaccinations to members of the public who are eligible. Those who wish to be notified when they are eligible to receive the vaccine through AdventHealth can sign up for alerts at www.CoronavirusVaccineAlerts.com.
