City Schools Host Vital Forum on Adolescent wellbeing, Empowering Families with Actionable Strategies
[CITY, STATE] – October 2, 2024 - Over 200 families, educators, and school administrators gathered at the Government House Auditorium on Wednesday, October 1st, for the second installment of “Adolescent Welfare: How do we go from concern to action?” The event, organized by the Ministry of Education, aimed to provide parents and guardians with practical tools and expert guidance to navigate the challenges of raising teenagers.
The forum opened with remarks from Inés Cruzalegui, Undersecretary of Learning Management, and Teresa Patronelli, General Director of School open to the Community. Both leaders emphasized the critical need for supportive environments where families can address key issues surrounding parenting, socio-emotional advancement, mental health, and adolescent learning.
A panel of renowned specialists led a dynamic discussion, offering insights and answering questions from attendees. The panel included: alejandro Schujman, a Psychologist specializing in teen dynamics and dialog; Lucas Brush, a Psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and international speaker; and Brenda Tróccoli, a specialist communicator focused on family relationships.
The conversation centered around the most pressing concerns voiced by families,including difficulties with communication,managing adolescent temperament,anxiety,mental health challenges,problematic substance use,and helping teens define their future goals. Specialists shared concrete resources and strategies designed to translate awareness into positive action.
Following the panel discussion, attendees participated in a valuable exchange with the experts, fostering a collaborative habitat for problem-solving. The Ministry of Education reaffirmed its dedication to the holistic wellbeing of the city’s youth through this ongoing initiative.
This second edition builds on the success of the inaugural “Adolescent Welfare” meeting held in May, demonstrating a clear demand for continued support and resources for families navigating the complexities of adolescence. The Ministry plans to continue this cycle of forums, solidifying its commitment to fostering a thriving and supportive environment for all students.
