At least two people were killed in violence on Saturday in Divo, a locality 200 km northwest of Abidjan. This is in the wake of the inauguration of President Alassane Dramane Ouattara as a candidate for a third term, hospital and local sources said on Sunday.
“A person evacuated to the CHR (Regional Hospital Center) succumbed to his injuries (…) this (Sunday) morning“, A hospital source told AFP, reporting“several serious injuries with machetes“.

Confirmation of death
This death was confirmed by a local source. A teenager died in the fire on Saturday in a bush bar, according to several residents.

The Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara, was officially invested, Saturday, August 22, in Abidjan, his party’s candidate for the October presidential election, provoking opposition demonstrations, sometimes violent, in several cities of the country.
