Five years ago, Adele canceled two scheduled concerts at Wembley due to damaged vocal cords. The singer then largely withdrew from public life. Until Friday, when she gave a concert for the first time in all these years.
That could have turned out differently: actually she should have performed her new album (which came out in November) already in January during a series of performances in Las Vegas, but they were canceled barely 24 hours in advance. “Because the show isn’t finished,” it sounded then.
So now she’s done: the singer let her 65,000 fans present in London know that she was “so happy” to be back on stage, it made her feel emotional at times. “It’s so strange to perform in front of an audience again,” he said. “I get nervous before every show, but I love being here.”
