Addresses famous Britons on the street by mistake at royal honors

The British government has accidentally put a list online for a short time with the addresses of people who received an award from the queen this weekend.

It concerns more than a thousand addresses, writes the BBC. Among others from famous politicians and celebrities such as Elton John. With the New Year Honors, the singer was raised from the knighthood to a higher order.

“A wrong version of the list was published,” the authorities tell the BBC. “We apologize and find out how this could happen.”

The list of addresses has not been online for long, according to the government about an hour. An official report is made of the data breach. The government may still receive a fine from the privacy watchdog.
