Actress Shannen Doherty Shares Candid Photos and Video of Cancer Treatment as Cancer Returns and Spreads to Brain

Doherty’s cancer returned in late 2020 and had already metastasized, a condition in which cancer cells multiply and spread to other parts of the body. In January, tests revealed it had now spread to the brain, reports Dailymail.co.uk.

Ms. Doherty shared extremely private photos and videowhere she is preparing for radiation therapy, during which cancer cells are destroyed with powerful X-rays.

In a candid comment, she says, “This is what cancer can look like,” and explains that her claustrophobia makes treatment very difficult.

In the fight against breast cancer, she underwent both chemotherapy and radiation, as well as a mastectomy.

In February 2020, the actress revealed that she was in remission after a three-year battle, but already in 2021, the celebrity announced that she was fighting to survive again.

In recent years, rates in the U.S. have increased by 0.5 percent a year, which experts say could be caused by an increase in excess body weight among women in general, as well as a decline in fertility rates and an increase in the age of women at first birth.
