Actress Annabella Sciorra testifies about Weinstein: “If only I had never opened it”

For the first time, a woman accusing Harvey Weinstein has testified of sexual abuse in the case against the Hollywood producer. According to 59-year-old actress Annabella Sciorra, Weinstein raped and threatened her in the 90s.

Sciorra emotionally told that Weinstein raided her home. Shortly after she received a lift from him, he stood again at her door and forced herself on her. “While he was having intercourse with me, I tried to fight, but it didn’t work because he was holding my hands.”

“It was so disgusting that it shook my body,” Sciorra continued. “I didn’t know what happened to me. As if I had an epileptic seizure.”

‘Confused’

Weinstein’s lawyers asked Sciorra why she hadn’t gone to a doctor, reported it or even talked to someone else about the incident. “At the time I didn’t understand that this was rape. I thought only strangers could do something like that.”

“I thought he was a good guy. I was confused. If only I had never opened that door.”

The lawyers also pointed out that after the rape allegedly, Sciorra was still in the Weinstein film Cop Land played. She replied that she did not know that he was involved in the film.

Threatened

Moreover, the prosecutor argued Wednesday, Weinstein had “the women in the tongs”. Sciorra also felt threatened by the powerful producer.

When she spoke to him of his behavior a few weeks later, he waved it away. “That’s how all good Catholic girls react.”

Then his tone became more threatening, according to Sciorra. “This stays between you and me,” Weinstein would have said. “I was afraid he would hit me on the spot.” Weinstein reacted unmoved to the Sciorra story.

Lifetime

Eighty women accuse Weinstein of sexually undesirable behavior, the New York case revolves around the charges of two of them.

Weinstein cannot be prosecuted for the allegations of Sciorra because they have already been barred. She may tell her story because it may indicate a pattern of abuse of power.

67-year-old Weinstein can get life imprisonment if he is convicted.
