Activities continue on the occasion of the Open Book Week

The activities on the occasion of the Open Book Week They continue to be held in different parts of the city of Talavera, complying, at all times, with the sanitary measures imposed by the corresponding authorities.

Since last Friday, more than a dozen activities have been carried out both in the emblematic Plaza del Pan and in the rest of the cultural spaces that Talavera has. In addition, different bookstores in the city are located in this central square until next Sunday to bring books and culture even closer to citizens.

In this sense, the Councilor for Cultural Promotion, Carlos Gil, He recalled the important commitment that the Government team has made on the one hand for the booksellers of the city, “who often work 365 days a year to keep Culture alive”, but also for the young talents of literature or poetry in Talavera.

SCHEDULE CHANGE IN THE PROGRAM

From the Local Autonomous Organism of Culture (OAL) have reported that the presentation of the Rafael Morales and Joaquín Benito de Lucas Poetry Awards, as well as the performance of the Talavera singer-songwriter Javier Ahijado on June 4, will be brought forward at 7:30 p.m. due to the liturgical act that will take place. at 9:00 p.m. in memory of the recently deceased poet from Talavera Joaquin Benito de Lucas.

REST OF ACTIVITIES

The IES Gabriel Alonso de Herrera will present on Thursday, June 3 ‘Cantos de esperanza’ from 12 noon and the writers Francisco Javier González Valdepeñas and Benjamín Pulido will present their respective novels at 6:30 p.m. Around 8 pm it will be the turn of the presentation of the new novel by Pablo del Cerro.
