“It should be underlined that 1,212 people from the number of active cases are foreign travelers,” said Head of Disease Prevention and Control, DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, Dwi Oktavia in a written statement, Saturday (8/1).
Dwi added that today, Jakarta recorded the addition of 278 new positive cases, bringing the total positive cases in the capital to 866,909 cases. Of the additional 278 cases, according to Dwi, 230 of them are foreign travelers.
In addition, based on data from the DKI Jakarta Health Office, the number of cases of the Omicron variant of the corona virus in Jakarta to date has reached 333 people.
Of the 333 infected people, 84.1 percent of them or 280 people were overseas travelers, while 53 were local transmissions.
Of the number of positive cases, a total of 851,727 people have recovered. Meanwhile, 13,589 people died.
For the percentage of positive cases (positivity rate) last week in Jakarta by 1.8 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of positive cases in total is 11 percent.
Dwi emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government continues to intensify efforts testing, tracing, treatment in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, the vaccination program is still running.
For the vaccination program, the current total dose of 1 is 11,954,112 people (118.5 percent), with a proportion of 70 percent being residents with Jakarta ID cards and 30 percent residents with non-DKI ID cards.
Meanwhile, the total dose 2 has now reached 9,334,597 people (92.6 percent), with a proportion of 71 percent being residents with Jakarta ID cards and 29 percent residents with non-DKI ID cards.
