‘Action group’ sabotages PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sales

Companies that sell PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are being ‘held hostage’.

The demand for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X far exceeds the number of consoles available. Gamers who have not pre-ordered are fighting for their chance to buy one at every online sale. That now seems a lot more pointless than thought by a real ‘action group’ that is taking sales hostage.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are selling dramatically

It was no surprise that the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X would become immensely popular. That is why the presales ran very fast. However, due to the Corona crisis, production is more difficult than usual. This means that the consoles are sold out stiffly everywhere. Retailers only receive small quantities. As soon as they announce an online sale, such new stock is often sold out within a few minutes. In addition to happy gamers, there are also more and more traders who try to sell such a console and then try to sell with profiteering. Also in the presale there have been people who ordered multiple consoles and sold them (sometimes except one for their own use) at a profit. Although this is legal, it is of course unpleasant for the gamer who is less likely to get a new console for the retail price.

There is now a group called Crapchiefnotify that is bringing a whole new dimension to this buying up for trading. They have now set up an Instagram Group with which they promise members an extra income on very scarce goods. In addition to limited sneakers and other rare items, they are now fully committed to the new consoles. They create a bot network for members with which they take the website of the selling retailer hostage when selling. Simply put, they turn computers into a network that continuously tries to place orders for the new consoles. Because they carry out a mass attack on the ordering option, as it were, they have a much higher chance of successful orders than the gamer who can only use 1 ordering option at a time with one computer. Roughly speaking, they fire the order button with a machine gun while the gamer has a revolver. They say they sometimes score because of this thousand consoles per sale. They then sell these consoles, of course at higher prices, again via marketplaces.

Action group or ordinary cash grabbers?

They themselves declare that they work according to the motto: “if you snooze you lose”. They do not regret their actions. Moreover, they argue that they use the profits to also provide presents to poor children at Christmas. However, if you look at the Insta page, you will see that it is a ‘make money fast’ system, where participants are promised profiteering. It therefore seems that the action is not charitable. Regardless, the gamer seems to be financially affected. In addition, the market is also plagued by regular scammers. So you have to be careful!
