Acosta Fly 6 Meters During Accident in MotoGP America

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Moto3 Racer, Pedro Acosta admitted to flying up to a height of six meters as a result of a fatal accident in American Moto3 at the Austin Circuit, Sunday (3/10).

Acosta is one of the drivers who fell victim to Deniz Oncu’s maneuver. Acosta and Andrea Migno were blown into the air after crashing into the motorcycle of Indonesian Gresini racer Jeremy Alcoba.

Alcoba had previously fallen due to Oncu’s dangerous maneuver. Oncu cut Alcoba’s racing line which then fell and made the motorbike he was riding hit by Acosta and Migno.

“I calculated that the incident made me fly up to a height of six meters and was thrown 50 meters away. I also hit the guardrail which made me spin like a top,” Acosta said as quoted by Antara. AS.

“I felt something in my back but I was able to move, which calmed my heart,” he added.

The dangerous maneuvers carried out by Oncu also resulted in sanctions from the race supervisor. The young driver from Turkey was given a severe punishment in the form of a ban in the next two series after the incident that occurred at the Austin Circuit.

The Turkish racer was also confirmed to be absent during the Moto3 Emilia Romagna on 24 October and the Algarve MotoGP, 7 November.

The severe punishment was imposed because the race supervisor assessed Oncu to be responsible for a severe accident involving many racers at the Austin Circuit.
