Acer introduces 14 “Chromebook with built-in 4G modem – Computer – News

Acer will bring a new model of the Chromebook 314 to the Dutch market in June. There are three variants of this 14 “Chromebook. They are all equipped with a 4G modem, so that users without WiFi can also use mobile internet directly.

Users can insert a SIM card in the new Chromebook 314 models to use 4G. The manufacturer does not report what type of LTE modem is integrated in the Chromebook or what the maximum speeds are. If a user uses the 4G modem and the device still finds a strong WiFi signal, it will automatically switch to it.

There will be three configurations, all with a 14 “ips display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. According to Acer, the battery life is 12.5 hours for all variants. They are also resistant to drops, bumps, dust and extreme temperature changes, according to the manufacturer. although the company does not elaborate further on this.

The cheapest version, the Chromebook 314 C933L-C5XN, is the only one that does not have a touchscreen and has to make do with an Intel Celeron N402 cpu, 4GB ram and 32GB emmc storage. The more expensive Chromebook 314 C933LT-C6L7 has an Intel Celeron N4120p CPU, 4GB ram and 64GB emmc storage. The most expensive configuration concerns the Chromebook 314 C933LT-P3G5. This is equipped with the Intel Pentium Silver N5030 cpu, 8GB ram and also 64GB emmc storage.

The devices weigh 1.7kg and are 19.7mm high, 325.4mm wide and 232mm deep. The cheapest model costs 483 euros, including VAT. Prices for the other two configurations are 543 and 604 euros including VAT. The Chromebooks should be available in the Netherlands by mid-June.
