Accused of protecting the Bakrie Group in the Jiwasraya case, BPK reported Bentjok to Criminal Investigation

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The Financial Audit Agency (BPK) is furious because it is accused by Benny Tjokrosaputro of protecting the Bakrie group in the Jiwasraya case. Not accepting the accusation thus, the BPK immediately held a conference, and told reporters the crew would report the Hanson International boss to the Criminal Investigation Police Headquarters.

“After this press conference, we will formally complain against the law committed by Benny Tjokro regarding defamation of the Criminal Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Headquarters,” said BPK Supreme Chief Firma Sampurna in Jakarta, Monday (29/6).

Agung said that Benny Tjokro’s accusation that the BPK had covered up the Bakrie Group’s involvement in the Jiwasraya case was unreasonable.
“This BPK charge does not make sense. What is our relationship protecting this, “he asked.

Because, he said, the construction of acts against the law carried out by the suspects was already clear and supported by adequate preliminary evidence. including the calculation of state losses (PKN) is also done at the request of law enforcement.

Moreover, PKN both in substance and procedure is part of the examination of the management and responsibility of state finances and is the authority of the BPK. Thus, he assessed that the PKN conducted was in accordance with the stringent standards of state financial audits (SPKN).

“With this framework, it would be funny to say that BPK or BPK’s Chair and Deputy Chairperson protect certain parties. Because the BPK counted PKN after the construction of acts against the law and the suspect was determined by the prosecutor’s office, “he added.

On Wednesday (6/24), Benny had stated that the BPK had protected the Bakrie Group in the Jiwasraya corruption scandal. He said, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the BPK deliberately covered Bakrie’s involvement because they were suspected of having a special affinity with this business group owned by the Bakrie family.
