WASHINGTON ap | Former US President Donald Trump will testify under oath regarding his dealings on Wednesday as part of the civil investigation by the New York Attorney’s Office. Trump announced this in the network he co-founded Truth Social on. The investigation involves allegations that Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, misrepresented the value of some of its properties, thereby duping banks and tax authorities.

“Tomorrow I’m meeting the racist Attorney General of New York to continue the largest witch hunt in US history!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He repeated the accusation of racism against the Attorney General Letitia James, which is black. “My great company and myself are being attacked from all sides,” Trump added. “Banana Republic!”

James has said their investigations revealed the Trump Organization used fraudulent or misleading valuations of assets such as golf courses and skyscrapers to obtain loans and tax benefits. Trump has denied the allegations. Parallel to James’ civil investigation into the Manhattan case, a criminal investigation is ongoing.

Just a few days ago, FBI officials searched the ex-president’s property in Florida. The investigation is about the suspicion that Trump took secret documents with him when he left the White House.
