Billionaire Elon Musk likes to brag about Tesla’s successes and plans. At WAIC, the world’s artificial intelligence conference held in Shanghai, China, from Thursday to Saturday, he also talked about what to expect from Tesla in the near future.

According to Musek, Tesla is very close to getting her cars to use a fifth-generation autonomous steering system. This basically means that electric cars such as the S, 3, X or Y model will be able to drive with zero intervention from the driver from start to finish.

“I am convinced that level five, or in other words, full autonomy will take place. And I don’t think it will take long. On the contrary, it will be fast, “said Musk. “I continue to support the achievement of basic level five autonomous management functionality this year,” he added. For example, Tesla is developing new cooling systems to make such systems work in cars.

In the case of full autonomy, however, we are talking about the future as a whole. Building infrastructure and adapting legislation is also important for the functioning of similar systems. It is also necessary to solve the number of accidents that have already been caused around the world by Tesla’s assistance system called Autopilot.

At present, cars are on the border of second and third degree, in which cars can already solve even more complex situations, but sometimes require driver interaction.

The mentioned fifth gear is the highest, the car must be able to drive without the intervention of the driver.
