Accident on NJ Turnpike Leaves 1 Dead, Several Injured – NBC New York

NEW JERSEY — At least one person was killed and nearly two dozen others were injured, five seriously, when a bus overturned in an accident on the NJ Turnpike, according to state police.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday in Woodbridge Township, on the Thomas Edison service area entrance ramp from the outer road, New Jersey State Police added.

The double-decker bus was en route from New York City to Philadelphia when it collided with a Ford F-150 pickup, according to police. The circumstances were still under investigation.

One person died and there were multiple injuries, the uniformed officer confirmed, with some 20 people injured. At least five suffered serious injuries, including the bus driver. Police said no one in the car was injured.
