Ronald Koeman led his second match with Barcelona when the Blaugrana won 3-1 over Girona in a friendly match at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, Wednesday (16/9/2020) local time or Thursday morning WIB.
Koeman replaced Quique Setien, who was considered a total failure in managing Barca last season.
He is certainly not alone in leading Barca. Koeman was accompanied by Henrik Larsson and Alfred Schreuder as assistant coaches.
Previously, the presence of the former Dutch national team architect had made it Lionel Messi angry.
This is because, Koeman warned Messi that he was no longer ‘special’ under his care.
This condition was exacerbated by Koeman’s move to fire Luis Suarez over the phone.
However, the feud has passed and the two have now reconciled.
Clarence Seedorf revealed that Barca’s decision to choose Koeman as their new coach was the right thing.
