Jack messes with traffic
Miami (AFP) – A kangaroo bobbing leisurely through the streets kept the Florida police busy: The tame marsupial Jack had escaped its owner and caused some chaos on its foray through Fort Lauderdale before the visibly amused officials caught it again could be. Its owner Anthony Macias is now facing trouble, as the local newspaper “Sun Sentinel” reported.

A concerned caller made the police aware of the unusual road user, who almost caused some rear-end collisions. “I know you probably think I’m crazy. But everyone brakes and looks and almost hit the animal and I don’t want it to be run over,” he said. The video shows how the officers finally catch Jack and report his arrest with a laugh.
The two-year-old animal lives with him with Corgi Max, said the happy owner Macias. “They love each other, play with each other and run around together.” Since Macias apparently does not have a kangaroo keeper license, he now has a criminal complaint on his neck. If convicted, he faces up to 60 days in prison and a $ 500 fine.
