Above-average temperatures await the Czechia until mid-December, it will only freeze at night

Until mid-December, it will freeze in the Czech Republic only at night. Temperatures will be above average in the next four weeks. For example, next week the mercury will rise to plus nine degrees Celsius during the day. This follows from the monthly weather outlook published today by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, and from the institute’s short-term forecast.

For the next four weeks, from 23 November to 20 December, temperatures will be above the long-term average for this period. Weekly averages of daily temperatures will gradually decrease, but only from about six degrees to four degrees above zero. Even the weekly averages of night temperatures will be just above zero for the next two weeks, and only in the next two weeks – between December 7 and 20 – will they reach slightly below zero.

Next week, according to the CHMI’s short-term forecast, temperatures will not fall below two degrees above zero during the day. Rarely will they reach up to plus eight or nine degrees Celsius. It may freeze overnight, but the lowest night temperature will be about minus two degrees.

The next four weeks will also be drier than usual for this period. “In terms of total precipitation, we expect the period from 23 November to 20 December 2020 as a whole to be below average, so the trend of gradual precipitation in recent weeks will continue,” meteorologists said.
