After a song by Umm Kulthum with artificial intelligence technology caused a sensation, the matter was repeated with the late Nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez, as a song was released by him with the same technology, which prompted his family to threaten to sue those who did that.

In a family statement, Mohamed Shabana, the son of the late Egyptian singer’s brother, said that the family will take all legal measures against the users of his uncle’s voice in songs using artificial intelligence technology, and superimposing it on modern songs, describing what happened as a failed and very bad experience.

The family also added that they will sue the perpetrator because this is a distortion of the history and message of Abdel Halim Hafez, noting that any person, entity or company that will do this act will be subject to legal accountability because the voice of the nightingale belongs exclusively to his family.

And the family revealed, according to the statement, that if it wants to use this technology one day, it will be of the highest quality, craftsmanship, and technology for the enjoyment of Nightingale lovers, and it will be with the satisfaction of its fans and lovers.

Heirs of Umm Kulthum

This statement comes days after the heirs of the late singer Umm Kulthum took the same step, after using her voice with artificial intelligence.

The famous Egyptian singer and composer, Amr Mostafa, decided to revive the voice of Kawkab Al Sharq, using artificial intelligence technology, by releasing a new song composed by him.

Mostafa promoted the song, which is scheduled to be released during the next few years, through his official accounts on social media, and published a short clip of the song.

Go to the Attorney General

The Egyptian singer said in a previous interview with Al-Arabiya.net that the voice presented in the song was produced by artificial intelligence, and this was clarified on the clip in order to preserve rights, adding that the words used in this clip are not owned by the producer who objected to the song.

He also added that he would complete this project with other art giants, directing his speech to those who attack him by saying: To those who claim to preserve the heritage, they did not preserve the heritage of the living in order to defend the dead.

Mustafa warned that in the event that the artistic works of his own works are not deleted from the websites, he will take the necessary measures and invalidate all his concessions to authors and composers, and he will go to the Public Prosecutor to preserve his rights.
