Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly Club, confirmed that he did not intend to cause any abuse to the Al-Ittihad Alexandria club or its board of directors during his statements yesterday evening, Monday.
Abdel Hafeez stated in statements published by the official account of Al-Ahly channel, that his statements were misunderstood by some, which led to his desire to clarify matters.
Al-Ahly football director said: “I did not mean to direct the club to Al-Ittihad from near or far, some people misunderstood some aspect of the statements, especially that what is meant is not the Alexandrian team.”
He continued: “Al-Ittihad is not a party to any crisis with us, and I cherish its Board of Directors a lot. The relationship between us and them prevails in mutual respect, as well as the relationship between the two clubs’ leaders that exceeds the word respect.”
He concluded: “I have not and will not cause any abuse to the Al-Ittihad club, with which we have had a long-standing relationship, and there is no room for any difference between the two clubs at all.”
Abdel Hafeez had spoken on Al-Ahly channel criticizing the attempts to cancel the current season of the Egyptian Football League by a club that wants to resume basketball league competitions, as he described.
