Aaron Tveit & CHESS Cast Issue “One Night In Bangkok” Challenge to Fans
New York, NY – November 8, 2023 – The cast of the Broadway revival of CHESS, led by Tony Award-winning star Aaron Tveit, has launched a social media challenge centered around the iconic song “One Night In Bangkok,” encouraging fans to showcase their creativity and vocal talents. The initiative, dubbed the “One Night In bangkok Challenge,” aims to generate excitement around the production and foster a deeper connection with it’s audience.
The challenge arrives as CHESS continues its limited run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, captivating audiences with its complex story of Cold War rivalry and romantic entanglement. The musical, originally conceived as a concept album by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, with lyrics by Tim Rice, has experienced renewed popularity thanks to this current production. The “One Night In Bangkok Challenge” provides a unique opportunity for fans to engage directly with the show’s vibrant musical landscape and share their passion for the production online.
Participants are invited to create and share videos performing their own interpretations of “One Night In Bangkok” on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), using a dedicated hashtag to track submissions. The cast will be actively monitoring entries and highlighting standout performances. A unique event ID, generated for tracking purposes, is fbEventId, and topic parameters include a regional focus on “broadway.”
The challenge also leverages data collection for audience insights. Cookies,including those for Facebook Pixel tracking (_fbp,_fbc,fb_click_id) and perhaps user email (hashed via SHA-256),are utilized to build a payload of event data. This data,including the event source URL and client IP address (currently recorded as “2a01:4f9:6b:45c7::2”),is then transmitted via a POST request to the endpoint “/meta_capi.php,” utilizing either the sendBeacon API or a standard fetch request with keepalive: true to ensure reliable delivery. The payload includes both ‘PageView’ and ‘TheatreTopicView’ events, reflecting user interaction with the challenge and the broader CHESS theme.
