Thick black smoke was seen around 1:30 am, on the night of Thursday to Friday, above the forest of Rothrist (AG). When police and firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered a hunting cabin in flames. Despite the rapid intervention of the firefighters, it was completely destroyed. The exact amount of damage has not yet been estimated, but it is considerable, according to police.

The police managed to arrest a 50-year-old Swiss the same night. The man who lives in the region is suspected of having deliberately set the cabin on fire. At the time of his arrest, he was intoxicated. The prosecution has opened an investigation.
