Aamir Khan takes break from acting; The actor wants to be with his family

Bollywood star Aamir Khan has announced that he is taking a break from films. Though there have been reports that Aamir Khan will play the lead role in the film Champions, the new announcement was that he would be producing the film instead of acting. The actor made this announcement during an event held yesterday. He said that he wants to spend some time with his mother and children and so he is taking a break from acting.

“While doing films as an actor, nothing special happens in my life. I wanted to make Champions after Lal Singh Chadha. The film has a great script. But I want to take a break from acting and spend time with my mother and kids”, Amir said.

This is the first time Aamir Khan has taken such a break in his career which has spanned over three decades. “I’ve been working for 35 years. I was very focused on my job. But it wasn’t practical for those close to me. I feel like I need to spend some time with them and really experience life in a different way. I’m putting aside the next few years for that,” he said.

Lal Singh Chadha was Aamir Khan’s last film. Kareena Kapoor Khan was the heroine of the film. ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The film received a mixed response from audiences and critics.

Lal Singh Chadha was recently released on Netflix. Although the decision was made to stream the film on the OTT platform six months after its theatrical release, the film was released on the OTT platform last month. The film is directed by Advait Chandan.

Meanwhile, calls have been made on social media to boycott Lal Singh Chadha. Aamir Khan’s visit to Turkey in 2020 and his meeting with Turkish first lady Emin Erdogan again resulted in massive protests against him. Aamir has also faced criticism on social media for his previous comments about intolerance in the country. Earlier there had been a similar boycott call against Aamir Dangal’s film. Lal Singh Chadha hit the big screen on 11th August 2022. South Indian actor Naga Chaitanya also made his Bollywood debut with Lal Singh Chadha.
