Hamburg (dpa / lno) – Because of the closure of a noise protection tunnel on Autobahn 7 in Hamburg-Schnelsen, drivers had to be patient on Saturday. The diversion route was already busy in the morning, said a spokeswoman for the traffic control center in Hamburg on Saturday. The high volume of traffic should be equalized, among other things, by appropriately adapted traffic lights.
The A7 was fully closed on Friday evening as planned between the Hamburg-Eidelstedt and Schnelsen-Nord junctions. The section cannot be used until 5 a.m. on Monday morning. Both the direction of Flensburg / Kiel and Hanover are affected by the full closure. It is possible to drive over the triangle Hamburg-Nordwest in and from the direction of Heide.
The closure is necessary because of the activation of the new tunnel software and tests for traffic safety. However, the blocking time should also be used to maintain the approximately 550-meter-long noise protection tunnel.
