It’s an evening of house-warming which turned into a drama. In Niort, a 20-year-old young man made a eight meter drop in the night from Saturday to Sunday. It happened around two in the morning. He was in an apartment in rue Bernard d’Agesci with a dozen friends when he fell in the inner courtyard. On site, the intervention of GRIMP firefighters, the emergency response group, to evacuate the victim.
The eight friends met in a first apartment to start the evening. Then they went to a bar and then to another apartment, the one in the accident. All drank a lot of alcohol. The victim wanted to smoke a cigarette at the window, and sat on the railing, not the ledge. The, the guardrail has dropped and the young man began his downfall. During the intervention of the emergency services, the young man was able to be resuscitated by the doctors of the SMUR and transported to the CHU of Poitiers, but in a state of brain death. Three other comrades who witnessed the scene were hospitalized in shock.
