A woman president of the Republic? 71% of French people want it

Will 2022 be the year a woman becomes President of the Republic? In any case, this is what a majority of French respondents by Harris Interactive for RTL in a survey * released on January 1.

Thus, 71% of French people “consider it desirable that a woman be elected President of the Republic by 2030”. They are also 57% to think that it is a “probable situation”, according to the radio.

But before seeing a woman in this position, the French imagine the worst. They are 35% to think that it is likely that a war will break out on the French territory by 2030. Or 71% to estimate that many jobs will have been replaced by robots.

No female candidate in 2022 for the moment

If no woman has yet officially voted on a presidential candidacy of 2022, a name has recently made the news on this subject. Christiane Taubira, asked a few months ago about a potential candidacy on France Inter, stated:
