The prices of the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + are identical to their predecessors
Details on the prices of the anticipated smartphones were provided by Roland Quandt, one of the industry’s most respected informants. It has dispelled the hopes of some that it might be cheaper than last year. On the other hand, there is no sign of a tragedy either. At least as for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + models.
Both are to be offered in 8 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB variants. Prices will reportedly be 849 euros and 899 euros for the Galaxy S22, as well as 1049 euros and 1099 euros for those interested in the Galaxy S22 +. Remembering the premiere of Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 +, we do not notice any differences here. And that’s good, because the design will not change, and the specifications will probably only be light cosmetics.
Galaxy S22 Ultra a bit more expensive, but will have less memory
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will be by far the most interesting. Here it looks like a changed design and the strongest components, as well as a stylus with a dedicated storage space in the housing (model of the Galaxy Note series).
Here, the prices are expected to be EUR 1,249, EUR 1,349 and EUR 1,449. This means increases by several dozen euros in the last two cases, which some could accept without complaining too much. However, it is worth paying attention to an important detail. Roland Quandt indicates the variants 8 GB + 128 GB, 12 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 512 GB. What does it mean? Less RAM than the Galaxy S21 Ultra. In it we are dealing with variants 12 GB + 128 GB, 12 GB + 256 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB.
You can now discuss whether 8 GB of RAM in a top smartphone is enough, or whether it should be 12 GB. Regardless of the answer, Galaxy S22 Ultra buyers will pay the same or more for a smartphone with less RAM than its predecessor.
The official premiere of smartphones from the Galaxy S22 series will take place next month.
