A well-known Bulgarian journalist died suddenly in Austria

The founder of the popular Bulgarian website in Austria BGMedia.at Ivan Karchev died suddenly on October 18 at the age of 45. Friends of the 45-year-old journalist started a fundraising campaign for his family.

“Today he flew away. Only 45. He left two wonderful children and a living Bulgarian community in Austria, which would never have been the same without him,” his colleagues said with regret.

Ivan Karchev was the editor-in-chief and creator of BGMedia.at, the magazine “Vienna – our city”, the Bulgarian radio show on Radio Orange 94.0, the TV show “Brigada TV” and the application BGKontakti. He was the organizer of a number of cultural and educational events for the Bulgarian community in Vienna and one of the most recognizable and active figures among Bulgarians in Austria in the last 20 years.

His projects began while studying Journalism and Communication Sciences at the University of Vienna.

“We lost one of the brightest personalities in the social and cultural life of the Bulgarian community in Vienna. Ivan Karchev left us only 45 years old – full of energy, ideas and plans. The least we can do for him is to support his family at such a difficult time.

On Friday (October 22) from 15:00 to 15:30 we will say our last goodbye to the man who did not stop informing and helping his compatriots. The worship will take place at Simmeringer Hauptstrasse 337, 1110 Wien – Große Feuerhalle, opposite the Zentralfriedhof Tor 2.

Bow! “, Write the Bulgarians in Austria / Die Bulgaren in Österreich.
