Mammadov spoke about the idea of creating such a museum in an interview ZN.UA in November 2020. He specified then that, in addition to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, the presidential office in Crimea, human rights activists and international organizations are working on the project.
“From idea to implementation – more than a year. The world’s first virtual museum of Russia’s armed aggression. Anyone in the world can learn about the facts, circumstances of crimes, the causes of an armed conflict and its consequences, and restore the chronology,” Mammadov wrote.
He considersthat the creation of such a museum should help prevent new such conflicts.
“The right to truth is a guarantee of non-repetition of the armed conflict in the future. And the second important block of the e-museum should tell about the effective control of Russia in the Donbass and the attempt to seize the southeast of Ukraine,” Mammadov stressed.

The virtual museum is available at rusaggression.gov.ua… Information on the site is duplicated in two languages – Ukrainian and English.
Russia annexed Crimea after a forceful blockade of Ukrainian military units and illegal referendum on March 16, 2014… The accession of the peninsula to the Russian Federation is not recognized by Ukraine and most countries of the world.
Immediately after the annexation of Crimea, Russia launched an armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the one hand and the Russian army and Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on the other. Officially, the Russian Federation does not recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
According to the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada Lyudmila Denisova, during the armed conflict in Donbass almost 14 thousand Ukrainians died, of which 4 thousand are civilians.
