Around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, the police received a report of a hit pedestrian on Shipka Blvd. in Plovdiv. According to the information, a 59-year-old man was hit by a truck moving in reverse, whose driver fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. With the subsequent active operational actions and the established good coordination with the ODMVR – Blagoevgrad, the same day the van was located on their territory.
Its 32-year-old driver was detained. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. Under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, officers from the “Investigation of transport crimes” sector continue their work.
