The businessman is building a luxury nursing home for BGN 15 million
The former anti-aircraft missile unit near the Plovdiv village of Yagodovo will become the most luxurious nursing home in the Balkans. This was announced to 24plovdiv.bg by the transport boss Petko Angelov. He won a secret auction in the Ministry of Defense for the military property with an area of 115 acres and 46 buildings, with a total built-up area of 9,000 square meters.
The bidding was launched during the time of former Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov, but the 45th parliament subsequently imposed a moratorium. However, the current Ministry of Defense, Georgi Panayotov, resumed the procedure and Angelov won the tender. He offered BGN 1,310,000 for the property, whose initial valuation was BGN 1,25,000. The procedure is to be finalized, and the carrier must pay an additional 809,000, as it has made a deposit of half a million levs.
Angelov intends to build the most luxurious home for adults in the Balkans on the former missile unit. “It will be for all people – from healthy to disabled. They will be cared for by a team of first-class doctors and experienced nurses. The home will be located on 20 acres in a large park environment. Part of it will be a whole building, and for more the wealthy will have one-storey houses equipped with everything they need. There will be a maximum of two people in a room, “said the businessman.
According to him, the investment will be BGN 15 million. Construction will begin after the transfer of ownership and change of use of the property.
Angel himself explained that some of the buildings there would be removed because they were old missile depots. However, the former headquarters could be preserved by being converted into a building with another purpose.
