He is a 16-year-old boy who died on the tracks near the Yambol village of Zavoy after being hit by a train. This was confirmed to bTV by the mayor of the village, Rumyana Todorova.
The incident happened around 5:50 p.m.
The boy was hit by the high-speed Sofia-Burgas train while crossing the tracks, carrying wood by bicycle from the nearby forest.
An inspection is being carried out and the reasons for the accident are being clarified. There are canceled trains, passengers will be transported by buses.
According to people from the village, the child is from a very poor family, and illegal logging in the forest in the dark is almost a daily occurrence.
