Carriers have introduced alternative bus transport.

– Passengers are informed about changes in the treatment of trains. A gradual restoration of traffic is expected in the afternoon as the works progress. The infrastructure manager cooperates with carriers on an ongoing basis to ensure travel through the Białystok station – informs Tomasz Lotowski from the press team of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA

Damage to the turnout – an element of the railway line that allows the trains to pass from one track to another, occurred during the passage of a freight train driven by two diesel locomotives. The wagons had already been pulled at night. One of the locomotives was taken. A second locomotive is being prepared to be picked up from the scene. Then, work will be performed on the damaged turnout.

– The maximum number of people is working, equipped with specialized equipment necessary for lifting and moving the rolling stock and for track work. The causes of the incident will be determined by a special commission. Travelers are informed about changes in the running of trains at stations and stops as well as on trains – adds Tomasz Lotowski.

In the morning, travelers from the train going from Białystok (scheduled departure 5:20) to Szklarska Poręba Górna via Warsaw had to make an alternative bus journey from Białystok station to Łapy station. There, a train was already provided, on which they continued their journey. The delay was approximately 70 minutes. On the other hand, those traveling on the Polregio train on the Szepietowo-Łapy-Białystok route also had difficulties. For people from Łapy, a bus was provided that went directly to the capital of Podlaskie Voivodeship.
