(Deutsche Welle):

The spread of the new Corona virus remains a mystery that baffles scientists because of its devastating effects, its features have become clear on health and public life and have posed a challenge to the entire world. Now American scientists confirm that the Corona virus is transmitted through aerosols.

A few weeks after the outbreak of the Corona virus in Europe, scientists concluded that the virus spreads, not only through a droplet-borne infection and direct contact, but also that it can spread by small particles over long distances in the air.

However, scientists have not been able to actually conclude this theory and all that has been proven is that parts of the viral DNA are bound to these small particles.

The German website “Spiegel Online” published that a team of researchers at the University of Florida reached the conclusion that the live, complete viruses of Corona can stick to the aerosol, which also makes the air contagious.

The study conducted on patients with Covid 19 disease concluded that air samples taken at a distance of two to five meters from Corona patients in a hospital, despite the large distance, contain the Covid-19 virus in the air samples.

The study added that samples taken directly from the air were identical to the genome of these sick people, according to what was reported by the German “Business Insider” website.

However, it is still not clear how intense the viral load is sufficient for the infection, so far there is no scientific evidence for this. University Hospital rooms in Florida are equipped with effective filters and are changed air six times an hour.

According to the researchers, this explains why they found only 74 viral particles per liter of air. In schools with poor ventilation, the situation is very different, and the viral load is likely to be much higher, said team leader John Lednicki.

The results of this study actually confirm that the transmission of viruses through aerosols is the only reasonable explanation that explains the high speed of the spread of this deadly virus. For example, 60 out of 80 members of a Berlin music choir were infected during training, despite the relatively large distance between each other, and it is likely that virus-laden aerosols were responsible.
