A single woman from a small town was invited for tests, but she does not have a car. Read what hygiene recommends Home

Prague If a person is shaken by hygiene due to contact with the infected person, he should attend the tests. But what can people do who do not have a collection point in their city, do not own a car and hygiene does not recommend them to use public transport?

“On Tuesday, the hygiene station contacted me with the fact that a pupil with a positive test for covid-19 appeared in my son’s class. The whole class immediately quarantined. We are supposed to attend the tests exactly one week after the findings, unfortunately for me as a single mother, without my own car, the situation is quite complicated. It was recommended to me that the best way to get to the collection is by car, not by public transport, “said Markéta M. (the woman did not want to mention her full name, but the editors know him), the mother of a primary school pupil in Žatec.

She pointed to a crack in the system on the social network and started a very lively discussion. The fact that the system obviously doesn’t think too much about car-free households is not liked by more people, and the woman in question is not the only such case.

Although they are trying to open a collection point in Žatec, they are not so lucky elsewhere. Like the woman mentioned, hygiene recommends that other people avoid using public transport until the test is performed. So what should they do?

According to the specially established line 1221, where people can turn with their questions about covid, there are two possibilities.

“If the patient is unable to come to the collection point due to his condition, the collection ambulances work. However, they are very busy and waiting times are in the order of a week. The second recommended procedure is the use of all personal protective equipment, ie gloves, respirators and the like, and use public transport. However, provided that the person in question does not use the busiest connections, “the line operator told Lidovky.cz.

Dana Šalamunová, a spokeswoman for the hygiene station of the Central Bohemian Region, confirms her words. “In this case, people can use public transport, of course with a veil and ideally also in gloves,” Šalamunová told Lidovky.cz.

With the increase in the number of positively tested ones, hygienic stations have been trying for a long time to expand teams at sampling points, as well as to increase the number of individual sampling stations across the country. As of Friday, there are more than 140 such stations in the Czech Republic, and the opening of more is planned.
