Ryanair Claims False Alarm
**Ryanair** later stated that the incident was due to a false fire warning. According to a spokesperson, “This flight interrupted his takeoff due to a false fire warning signal. The passengers were landed using inflatable slides and returned to the terminal. During the landing, a small number of passengers suffered very light injuries (ankle sprains, etc.) and the crew requested immediate medical assistance. To minimize the disturbances, we quickly organized a replacement plane, which left Palma at 07:05 this morning.”
While the airline asserted that injuries were minor, panic during evacuations can often lead to more severe consequences; in 2023, injuries during aircraft evacuations resulted in settlements averaging $75,000 per passenger (Kreindler Law).
Emergency Response
Four ambulances, airport firefighters, and civil guard units responded to the 12:35 a.m. emergency call.
