A record number of Russians have sought exile along the sunny beaches of Turkey. Not everyone is happy with it.

ANTALYA (Aftenposten): The Turks were already struggling with skyrocketing prices. Now the frustration that rich Russians have taken over the housing market is on the rise.

– How far is the beach? asks the Russian Jelena, pointing to the sea.

– Only five minutes to walk, replies real estate agent Tanin Hagshenas (24).

Jelena nods with interest as she is shown a two-story apartment in Konyaalti, west of the tourist city of Antalya. Take pictures of each room. The 56-year-old Muscovite already owns an apartment here. She now she is looking for another one, for her son of her.

Jelena fears that her 28-year-old son, who still works in Russia, will be called up for military service.

– I don’t want him to have to kill innocent people, he says.

Fears of full mobilization in Russia are mounting after Ukrainians make progress on the battlefield. Could a brand new apartment in Antalya be the salvation for Jelena’s son?
