A record amount of precipitation fell in Crimea

Crimea flooded with showers

Last week, bad weather covered Yalta and Sevastopol. Kerch was also flooded, Feodosia, Leninsky and Kirovsky districts suffered.

In Crimea, at the Ai-Petri meteorological station on June 18, 2021, a record amount of precipitation per day was recorded – 295 mm, which is equal to three monthly norms. About it informs Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory on Facebook.

This indicator is 17 mm higher than the previous climatic record of Ukraine, which was noted on September 2, 1991 at the meteorological site of the Karadag Research Geophysical Observatory. Then 278 mm of precipitation fell.

Note that last week bad weather covered Yalta and Sevastopol. Kerch was also flooded, Feodosia, Leninsky and Kirovsky districts suffered.

As previously reported, showers and overflowing river flooded Yalta.
