A quick-witted witness prevented the abduction of a newborn. The woman faces three years in prison

The abduction of a newborn at the Jablonec hospital is being solved by the criminal police. A young mother left a sleeping child unattended in a stroller at the entrance. A woman who had been punished seven times took advantage of this and left with a pram. She was stopped by an attentive receptionist who snatched the pram from the woman and called her mother and the police.

tv="" nova="">The abduction of the child happened in front of the main entrance to the Jablonec hospital. The mother parked the pram, with the sleeping child, to shop in the store next door. But a strange woman came to the pram, looked into it, and when she saw the child there, she took the pram and started to run away with it.

tv="" nova="">Fortunately, a prompt receptionist from the hospital noticed this. He walked down the corridor from the surgery, where he saw a lady who took the pram and wanted to leave with it. “Ttv="" nova="">and I ran out and yelled at her if the stroller was hers. I also told her to return the stroller immediately. I opened the door to the bistro and asked if the stroller belonged to any of the people. And the mother turns and says: ‘Yes, my baby is sleeping there.’ tv="" nova="">I’m glad it turned out this way.” stated

​tv="" nova="">Meanwhile, the suspects managed to escape. However, a team of criminal investigators immediately began searching for her. tv="" nova="">The police arrested the woman a day later at Turnov railway station. She was unable to explain to them what plans she had with the newborn.

tv="" nova="">tv="" nova="">“Obvinněna has already been punished by court seven times in the past. For committing the crime of kidnapping a child, she faces up to three years in prison,” said police spokeswoman Dagmar Sochorová.

“I will investigate the matter and we will certainly reward the employees,” promised the director of the Jablonec hospital, Vít Němeček.

Suspects in the kidnapping and murder are in custody. The police did not coddle them:
