In the capital of Greece, Athens, today, January 26, an explosion and fire occurred in a residential building, several buildings were damaged, one person was injured. This is reported Athens 24.
According to the fire service, the most likely cause of the explosion is a gas leak. It is reported that part of the house was not inhabited.
The fire was quickly extinguished. The shock wave of the explosion severely damaged the entire building, on the ground floor of which the grocery store is located, as well as the building opposite.
The windows of houses were broken at a distance of 200 meters, two cars were damaged. A 78-year-old man was injured and was hospitalized.
An explosive ordnance disposal team from the Greek police arrived at the scene of the explosion.
